Having spent a good 7 plus years working around the area of #LiverpoolStreetStation I have to wonder how this will make things better… no longer work in London but this is a huge project. Feeling sorry for train & tube commuters already…

Text in image says: “Most importantly, I object to the proposal because it contravenes the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) in several key respects. “Primarily, NPPF para.200 states: "Any harm to, or loss of, the significance of a designated heritage asset (from its alteration or destruction, or from development within its setting) should require clear and convincing justification." The proposal does not provide such a justification. “The proposal would cause substantial and irreparable harm to the Grade II listed station through the demolition of the roof structure of the existing station concourse, and replacement with a new structure.
What is bad about it? Here is my original response to the planning application to “redevelop” (i.e. gravely damage) #LiverpoolStreetStation and its surroundings (1/x)
Ten years disruption, ‘an overdevelopment of the site’ which would ‘adversely affect the building’s setting...in the Bishopsgate Conservation Area’ and "A disfiguring billion-pound office block on top of a major heritage asset..." but the ACME plan for #LiverpoolStreetStation gets the green light.
A decision on Network Rail’s proposed redevelopment of #LiverpoolStreetStation could be made soon. The scheme would harm this historic station and subject passengers to a decade of disruption, while offering limited benefits & no improvements to train services.
