Bitterly cold post work birding this morning and was rewarded with a patch tick when Glossy Ibis flew over my #Lochwinnoch patch at 7:24am, Had seen the bird 1 miles outside my patch previous, so was delighted to get it on patch list!

This is an image looking up at a young Blackbird perched in a Rowan tree eating the tree's red berries. It has a berry in its yellow bill and its head, chin and underside plumage is mottled brown. Taken at RSPB Lochwinnoch.

This is a left side view of a young female Blackbird perched in a Rowan tree. It is a young bird as it has yet to develop its full, dark brown plumage. It has been rooting in the mud for food at its bill is covered in mud! Taken in our Renfrewshire garden.
I agree Rob - the #Blackbird often unfairly overlooked so this is an excellent choice for #BirdOfTheDay. The young bird was eating Rowan berries at @rspbscotland.bsky.social #Lochwinnoch, others were in my garden.

Just a beautiful #PeacockButterfly I found at #Lochwinnoch Nature Reserve. Out in the rain, tryna warm up. I put them in a more sheltered bit so they could dry off.

This is an image of a male Osprey in flight above the scrape at RSPB Lochwinnoch having just caught a fish (probably a Roach). It is flying toward the camera with the fish gripped in its left foot. Its wings are arched up showing their mottled dark but largely white markings and the brown fingers on each wing tip. Its crown is white surrounded by brown cheeks, eye stripe and nape which highlight its bright yellow eye. Its underside and legs are almost all white and the lack of a dark collar indicates this is a male. Taken at RSPB Lochwinnoch in August 2025.
