Every state should do this.

Hell, the US should do this.

Imagine having BILLIONS and not wanting your cook, your nanny, your gardener, the server at your favourite restaurant, not able to have a decent home and nutritious food for their family.

Richard Wilkinson Richard is Emeritus Professor of Social Epidemiology at the University of Nottingham Medical School, Honorary Professor at University College London, and Honorary Visiting Professor at the University of York. From 1976 onwards his career has focused on research into social class differences in health, the social determinants of health, and on the health and social effects of income inequality. His publications include books and research papers published from 1973 onwards. Early on, he drew attention to the tendency for a range of social problems to be exacerbated by wider income differences between rich and poor – a pattern which he first pointed out in a chapter of Class and Health which he edited in 1986 (re-issued summer 2022).

You know what's good for business?

This is important for so many reasons.
Greater #inequality goes with higher crime, poorer population health, less stable economies, less efficient government, and more.

There is research on this showing that stable societies with greater equality have stronger more resilient economies, lower crime, more efficient govt and a host of other benefits.

Whoa. That’s pretty out there.

One of many problems with church-based, charity-based approaches is that they reinforce a hierarchy or caste system. They “other” people who have less resources.

Worse, they reinforce conditions that perpetuate need.
