Here's my assessment of last year's #lossanddamagefund decision at COP28. At #COP29, it was again disappointing to see that initial capitalization remains woefully low and that L&D was left out of the #NCQG.

UN's @antonioguterres12.bsky.social reminded countries that "the creation of the #LossAndDamageFund is a victory for developing countries, for multilateralism & for justice.
But its initial capitalization of $700 million doesn’t come close to righting the wrong inflicted on the vulnerable."
