Took this photo of some large stones at Lunan Bay today. I reckon with this border it's a prime image for a Pink Floyd LP of more unreleased songs from the Gilmour years. Call me. 😁

Red Castle. The image shows a beach in the foreground crossed by a shallow river. On the far side, beyond concrete tank traps, the land climbs steeply to a bluff, on which are the partial ruins of a castle made from red stone, with a lower wall and part of a tower. There are trees to the right of the castle. The sky is blue.
The ruins of Red Castle, enjoying a magnificent location overlooking Lunan Bay, south of Montrose in Angus. A castle first appears to have been built here for William the Lion, King William I of Scotland, in the late 1100s. More pics and info: www.undiscoveredscot...

The limekiln at Boddin Point. The image shows the limekiln in the upper left centre of the frame, with grass to its left. In the foreground is a rocky shoreline that is being undercut and seems to be collapsing. To the right is a rocky beach, while the sea is in the background. The scene is in sunshine.
The limekiln at Boddin Point in Angus, a little north of Lunan Bay. Dating back to the 1700s, it is ever more undercut by the sea and seems inevitably destined for collapse. More pics and info: www.undiscoveredscot...

Didn’t get a chance to grab a lunch break and get the dogs out until about 4ish today. It was definitely worth it though!

An iconic building of my Angus childhood - not sure what can ultimately be done, but will be watching closely to see what transpires. #lunanbay @HistEnvScot ...
