Fab time at #MEGNord - a smorgasbord of both research & sandwiches! Laminar MEG, fetal OPM, & the wonders of the cerebellum were highlights, as were all the lovely folks I got to meet 🧠 ✨
#MEGnord
Anyone else going to #MEGNord at Aarhus next week? 🇩🇰 Interested in predictive coding of touch from sound, beta & gamma dynamics, or somatosensory echoes? 🧠 Boy do I have the poster for you! Come say hi 😊
Harri Piitulainen from @JYUsport_health unearths Sherrington's succinct quote coining a key neuroscientific term: "In muscular receptivity we see the body itself acting as a stimulus to its receptors – proprioceptors." #MEGnord 2019
Best view from an MEG control room I've ever seen, at @JYUCIBR! #MEGnord 2019
Finally, I presented our own group's initial results @CFIN_AU, showing the first OPM recording ever of retinal responses, as well as replicating evoked responses from visual cortex and the fetal magnetocardiogram. We're very excited to develop these further! #MEGnord 2019
The Gothenburg team (Justin Schneiderman, Christoph Pfeiffer, and Elena Orekhoka) demonstrated several advances in high-Tc SQUID development and application. Notably, Orekhova found motion-related responses in visual cortex that were not captured by conventional MEG #MEGnord 2019
Meanwhile @ualsbombe from the Karolinska Institute demonstrated that on-scalp high-Tc SQUIDs can capture features of early somatosensory evoked responses not thought to be detectable by MEG. #MEGnord 2019
At Aalto, @R_Zetter and @jiivanaine from @Lauri_Parkkonen's group showed their results with OPM shielding and detection of visual cortical gamma-band responses. #MEGnord 2019
Progress with next-gen magnetometers demonstrated by all 4 Nordic universities presenting at #MEGnord 2019 today! 🇫🇮🇸🇪🇩🇰
Unfortunately missed sunrise at 4:30am, but looking forward to today at #MEGnord 2019 in Jyväskylä – @Joachim__Gross, @aivoAALTO, Stockholm, @CFIN_AU, @musicbrainAU, and Gothenburg coming up today!
