The world building in @devafagan's RIVAL MAGIC was so vivid: enchanted forests, magical seas full of mermaids &monsters, talking ferrets, dancing turnips! But I'd visit so I could hang out with Antonia & Moppe. I loved those girls!! 💙 #MGBooktober

Recently, my cousin rec'd a MG by @garlando_luigi about Giovanni Falcone, an Italian judge who went after the mafia in the 80s. Falcone exemplifies courage, grit, & our duty to fight injustice no matter how deeply ingrained. (Also:1st MG I've read in Italian! ✨) #MGBooktober

To celebrate my book launch last month, mia famiglia in Bologna sent me this gorgeously designed collection of Giovanni Rodari fables from @EnchantedLion illus by #valeriovidali. Every single page is filled with wonder. An absolute treasure! #MGBooktober Day 14

I'm a graphic novel fangirl, so this one's tough, but WHEN STARS ARE SCATTERED by @dantey114 and @JamiesonV was a definite stand out for me this year!! #MGBooktober Day 13

Turns out I needed something extra fun, charming, and clever. EVA EVERGREEN, SEMI-MAGICAL WITCH by @julieabebooks was the perfect magical cure to save the day! ✨ #MGBooktober Day 12

I don't read aloud much myself, but loved hearing @TorreyMaldonado read both WHAT LANE and TIGHT. It's extra cool when audiobooks are narrated by the author, and these two read-alouds are terrific! #MGBooktober Day 11

DRAGON HOOPS by @geneluenyang made me think deeply about storytelling and structure, while asking honest, important questions about how and why to write about difficult topics... and it made me care about *basketball* of all things, too! #MGBooktober Day 10

Apparently, I'm feeling overwhelmed this week. I saw yesterday's #MGBooktober prompt & completely froze: Favorite GENRE? But I like them ALL! What should I choose? Mystery? Fantasy? Sci-fi? Contemporary? Historical? Graphic novels? I perseverated all day. Then I went to bed. 😂

#MGBooktober Day 7: I'd like to send some extra love in the direction of @annbradenbooks today. Ann is tireless, fierce, empathetic, kind, silly, and an excellent emergency reader. ;) I cannot *wait* for her next book, THE FLIGHT OF THE PUFFIN to hit the shelves!
