My closest writing group, the #MGpies (part of MGHub) formed in a Twitter DM group. They are responsible for getting me sanely through COVID until the vaccines.
I enjoyed those pitching events too.
It’s hard with things so splintered now.
#KidLitChat I also check in each week with the #MGpies writing group I'm part of. So I usually look back at the previous week's goals then.
And I check in on a Zoom chat with another critique partner each Monday. We set goals we're going to work toward for the week.
I feel like that helps me focus

#KidLitChat I attribute so much of my writing skills growth to the rise of Zoom workshops. All through COVID the #MGpies writing group met weekly. And we learned so much together.

I'm a #KidLit #Author with a verse novel on sub, another almost ready for my agent, and a third being drafted. I'm a regular at #KidLitChat. I love weaving #STEM/#STEAM elements into #HistoricalFiction. And I love my writing group: #MGpies.
#KidLitChat Because #MGpies formed just as COVID started, we bonded pretty strongly. Zooms every week. We critique each others stories, and encourage each other. And then the broader group is great too.
#KidLitChat I've been part of numerous writing groups along my journey. Some have lasted longer than others. They tend to serve varying purposes. I'm most connected to my #MGpies group which is a subgroup of #MGHub, which formed during the build up to PitchWars a few years ago.
#KidLitChat actually last week the #MGpies (my writing support group) had our Shiny Object exchange. And this chat is making me think of that. I was gifted this novel-in-verse I just love, and a bookend to build. Both spark joy for the new year.
