A quote attributed to to Dr. Johnson: Understanding dopamine’s broader functions in the brain could provide new insights into how we approach conditions like addiction, depression and other neuropsychiatric disorders. Since dopamine is implicated in so many aspects of brain function, these insights have wide-ranging implications. In the future, we may be able to use these approaches to reduce the value of problematic memories and, as such, diminish their capacity to control maladaptive behaviors.

New research alert! A study, led by Dr. Alexander Johnson, challenges established theories of what dopamine does – and opens new avenues for understanding dopamine’s role in the brain! 🧠✨

A quote attributed to Dr. Campbell: “When you’re out in the field, you bear witness to all kinds of things, and it will impact you as a human being. Being a researcher does not take away your humanity. There is room for emotion in research. Those proverbial gut reactions we get in the field are really important and might be telling you something that can be very useful in your research."

A green graphic with a quote attributed to Tristan Janisse: “MSU has an excellent website where you can find information about ongoing research and see which labs are looking for students. Don't hesitate to reach out to professors and ask for some of their time to better understand their work. Many professors are looking for undergraduate research assistants, so if you show genuine interest and commitment and put yourself out there, you can definitely get valuable research experience. Be open and communicative.”
