To translate good ideas on interventions into
action within the health system requires a
thorough understanding of how to design,
implement, and evaluate interventions (feeding
into a continuous feedback loop for further
improvement).
The case studies and academic environment in
Oxford supports learning and exchanges
between peers and the wider academic
community. We believe that HSIE will equip early
and mid-career healthcare practitioners with the
skills needed for careers in complex health
systems around the world.

This course recognises the complexity of health
systems - services and care are delivered to
people by people. Relational aspects of the
healthcare workplace are therefore essential,
and influence workforce norms and culture.
Through teaching and learning that encourages
reflection, debate and creativity, this course will
engage with issues around complexity in
healthcare, and associated challenges.
