A new phase of weather observation for Europe has begun! 🛰️⛈️🎉 Yesterday, 13 December, @eumetsat's #MTGI1 weather satellite successfully launched from #Kourou aboard an #Ariane5 rocket. 🚀 The @DLR_SpaceAgency is providing technical support in cooperation with @DWD_presse.
🛰️ #MTGI1 liefert eine doppelt so hohe zeitliche & räumliche Auflösung & eine hundertfach höhere Datenrate als die Vorgängergenerationen. 🌩️ Der Wettersatellit kann auch Blitze & somit regionale Gewitter genauestens erfassen. 🇩🇪 Deutschland ist mit 30% an der Mission beteiligt.
