#Slavery in America existed outside the South. In #NYC on #ThisDayInHistory in 1712, the #MaidenLaneRevolt broke out. Slaves set fire to a building & as colonists tried to put it out they were attacked with guns & blades. Rebels were brutally killed (burnt alive, crushed, etc.).
