I'd like to take this opportunity to announce that I'm jumping into the race for Maine's 2nd Congressional District.

There's enough dicks in DC.

It's a great time to do a #MaineRaising. What's yours?

It was exhausting, and totally didn't have to be. If 10% of the people who agreed with me actually spent $25 on #MaineRaising, I would have landslided it.

There was a woman in Maine who ran for office asking for people to make donations to causes instead of her campaign. She called it #MaineRaising I loved her concept. Love this concept too.

It'd be a great year for candidates to borrow #MaineRaising (donate to not-for-profits and shop at small businesses, leaving a note to look up your candidate of choice)

Arguably a better use of money than donating to campaigns giving the state of affairs.

How about who gaf about a dude who couldn't even do an apology right when there's a year to go and better people for candidacy? Look into @tiffanybond.com and #MaineRaising Smarter choices, better politics.

Can you tell me more about how #MaineRaising works (or direct me to a link)? I don't quite understand the logistics. How does donating to neighbors translate to campaign funds? Or does it?

Someone told me I was a little birch eating crackers about the nazi tattoos for the last week.

I'm frustrated.

We all mostly want the same things and dislike the same things.

If #MaineRaising had gotten 1% of the media attention and social media buzz of the Nazi tat, #MaineRaising would have won.

If 10% of folks who agree with me in the US did a #MaineRaising, then that would not be a problem.

Though I think #MaineRaising would be well-suited for a statewide race, I don't have the resources.

I've got a mortgage to pay and getting signatures is a 5 month long full time job.

It's a shame that the people who would be good at the job are usually not good fundraising avatars.

I tried new methods of fundraising (see #MaineRaising), tried to push resources into the community (which got very little coverage).

I was frequently told I wasn't newsworthy, because they already knew I was competent and kind so why cover it after the very short initial coverage?
