~~ Subcreation ~~ Inspiration is a funny thing: coming from anywhere, anyone, anytime. Coffee chat → painting vision. Poem → essay thesis. Leaf turning just so → drive to move. Podcast → short story concept. Arrows elide a lot there… yet you get the idea: catalyst to creation. Creation, yes, but also subcreation, particles of one work to those of another.

Physics tells us nothing in nature disappears, only transfers to other matter; so goes it with art making? Is it all the same story evolved, refined, colored, shaped anew? I’m not so sure I mind either way. I only love magic of creative connection, of brilliance sparking further instinct, intention… In me, in another, in us through the twists and turns of the human story.

Poem share....my Tolkien peeps will recognize the term 😉😁 Not exactly what he meant by it, I know, but it got my wheels turning. It really does amaze me the way inspiration & art passes through and between us 💙🫶🏻
