Manga recommendation: A Man Who Defies The World Of BL
The MC is well aware he's in a BL manga and does his best to avoid the tropes that will end with him in a romance! I loved the commenting on all the typical tropes. It was so funny! #mangarec

It is an expansively detailed landscape that shows the character driving on a highway bridge, a small speck amidst collapsing skyscrapers overgrown with trees, and skeletal remnants of alien life forms. Everything is detailed in heavy shades of gray and black, with only the very top of the buildings using white where a bit of daylight can reach.
A two page spread at the beginning of Sketchy Volume 2. The previous panels offered the effect of the woman skateboarding into a title sequence, where SKETCHY is written across then sky of a cityscape in bold. The two pages are a POV shot looking up at an angle at the back of the woman as she skates on a city street downtown surrounded by trees and lampposts.
I’m a sucker for cinematic spreads in manga that previous smaller panels lead up to. These are two recent favorites. The first is from The Color of the End V1 by Haruo Iwamune ( @yenpress.com ), and the second from Sketchy V2 by Makihirochi ( @kodansha.us ). #mangarec

The way I absolutely cackled at this page from Glitch Vol. 2. I hope we get all of Shima Shinya’s work in English. Their manga is such a great blend of mystery and dry humor, with a distinct art style.
