I couldn’t leave Hereford without seeing the fabulous #mappamundi, kept in the cathedral, alongside their huge chained book library.

I really enjoyed playing #MappaMundi at #UKGI

Overall system is great but I did feel that the skill/abilities were too limiting. By them not giving a measurable bonus IMHO undermines the sense of 'player power' and caps the meaning of trying things in character.

But the story threads are amazing!

Exactly. We either allow players into worldbuilding (like #MappaMundi does) or we only allow them to steer their PCs, but still allow them to do whatever they want. You may warn them if You think there is a misunderstanding, but do not stop them, it's their character.

So we didn't do much, but they managed to design the Mappa Mundi Society Headquarters, accidentally received an invitation to the secret meeting of the Dragon Hunters Association, and learned about their expedition to hunt an unknown dragon that plagues the western forests.

One of the things that I like about #MappaMundi #TTRPG are "interactions" (I add similar to my games I call "Ways"). It is description of PCs skills, but not as something PC can do, or how they react to things - but rather how they APPROACH problems. I'm really happy it is sipping into #TTRPGDesign.

So I may start #MappaMundi #TTRPG campaign today with my kids. Knowing their attitude I decided to add political phase to the game (they start on the university, where there are different societies beside Mappa Mundi). I also made some changes to the system.
