First time finding these wonderful alpine #wildflowers on my #MarbleMeadows backpacking trip recently. "Phacelia Sericea is a subalpine to alpine species of open well-drained slopes, usually above 1,500 metres (4,900 ft) elevation, it is found in the mountains of #VancouverIsland" #naturephotography
Backpacking in #MarbleMeadows we were ecstatic spotting this juvenile #VancouverIsland Marmot. This species is endemic to #Canada โ it occurs here & nowhere else, it is also Critically Endangered. In 2004, fewer than 30 remained in the wild. Learn about the restorative work marmots.org is doing.
Its really hard to take it all in, such a biologically and geologically diverse and special place ๐ #MarbleMeadows
