A portrait of a woman standing in a landscape, and a young girl beside her sitting or leaning on a tree stump. Both people face the viewer; the woman holds the child's right hand in her right hand. The woman's left elbow rests on a ledge or outcropping, and her chin rests on her left hand. Around the picture is a thick, elaborately carved gold frame with a finial at the top, depicting leaves curling around a crown.

A half-length portrait of a young, pale-skinned woman in an oval frame, with her body turned toward the right edge of the artwork and her face turned over her right shoulder to gaze at the viewer. She wears a reddish or rust-colored dress with a gauzy white scarf around her shoulders, tied at the front. Resting on top of her long blond hair, which is pulled back at the forehead and temples and hangs in curls to her shoulders, is some kind of white cap, almost turban-like in shape.

A painting in which a woman in a gold gown at the viewer's right holds a woman on a bed or large couch wearing a white dress. The woman in white appears to be in some distress; her right arm is raised, with her finger pointing heavenward, as she turns her face to the woman beside her. According to the website where the image appears: "
Miss Gardiner is shown dying while being supported by her aunt Lady Townshend, having a vision of her deceased mother, & expressing a desire to join her; a feminine vision of death, ie emotional expressiveness contrasted with masculine stoic heroism."

Watercolor drawing, touched with white, over graphite, on buff paper, of the three Fates standing facing the much smaller figure of Cupid. His back is to the viewer; his bow hangs from his left hand, and there is a torch in his right hand, which he holds over his head. He might have lit the attribute of the middle Fate on fire; she has thrown up her hands and her head is thrown back. The other two don’t look terribly concerned. The Fate on the viewer’s left leans over as though to remonstrate with him. The one on the right crosses her arms and tips her head to her left as she looks down at him.
