Happy Groundhog Day!
#MarmotMonday
Right now, marmots are fast asleep, dreaming of their big morning on February 2nd! Sensible marmots are NOT staying up late fro the Grammys!

While Groundhog Day is not really celebrated in Asia, there is a Himalayan Marmot who is more than willing to prognosticate on 2 February!

It’s just another #MarmotMonday!
Just another #MarmotMonday… (Mount Rainier National Park)
A Yellow-bellied Marmot just its head and shoulders showing in this close up. It has a grey nose, brown head with a lighter yellow patch in front of the eye and also under the chin and round the neck. Futher back is brown flecked with yellow. It has long whiskers, dark eyes and small ears.
Is #MarmotMonday a thing on BlueSky? No? Sorry, but here is a Yellow-bellied Marmot, seen close to the Olmsted Point Trail, Yosemite, last week. #Photography #Mammals #FujiFilm #XT5
I love #MarmotMonday and I LOVE #MarmotMikeMonday!
A young yellow-bellied marmot stands on its hind feet and watches cautiously as my leashed standard poodle and I pass by. It is mostly brown with white on its forehead and muzzle and yellow coloring to its arms and legs and a bit on its belly.
Just another #MarmotMonday
This is a juvenile Yellow-bellied Marmot (Marmota flaviventris), photographed at Palouse Falls last month. Most amazingly, I saw marmots up in a tree eating leaves while I was there!
