idea is, megatronus had a fan who was very sweet on him back in the day. and he was always hesitant about courting you because of your vast differences and didn't want to drag you into what he's been planning. in case it all goes wrong and you suffer for it. or you become his weakness. and reader waits for him so long… but eventually starscream wooes you and you are very charmed by him. you are saddened that your feelings for megatronus were never returned but you figure you can't wait for him forever. so you go with starscream and he makes you feel like the only bot in the world. starscream may seem very prideful but you get to know him and what a sensitive and vulnerable bot he is underneath all that armor starscream ofc gloats about being with you around megatronus as much as possible and you chide him about it. embarrassed. it grinds megatronus's gears and he wants to strangle starscream over it but as long as you're happy………….. even if your taste in bots is scrap…………. you still go to all his matches but it's with starscream on your arm however because of starscream's high rank in vos you become a target and are killed by an assassin. megatronus blames starscream for it but even starscream is in tears about it. "don't you think I didn't care about her??? I only rubbed it in at you because I knew she—-!!" "she what?!" "I knew she loved you… still loved you… I kept hoping I would be the only mech in her spark!! but you!! just wouldn't!! go away!!!" they have a fight about it but megatronus is superior but he doesn't end starscream because he knows that's not what you would've wanted… because despite megatronus's shortcomings you had actually loved starscream and he knew from how you looked at him
they make a tentative truce to find the culprit and ofc it's the senate trying to send a message and this is when megatronus becomes megatron. slaughtering the senate. starscream decides it's in his best interest to follow megatron… his way of atoning for what happened to you. they gain a tense relationship because of this. starscream won't accept a weak leader and will try to usurp him at any turn. because you deserve better cut to present day reader has been reincarnated as a human. you are a bit obsessed with robotic things, mecha. you love robot fight club. and you have a fondness for flying and jet shows. everyone thinks you're a little odd lol, but lovable. you believe in aliens and it's a dream if you get to meet one!! and wow you sure do meet a robot alien which is like, the culmination of all your scifi fueled fantasies!! you were out hiking with a drone when a jet crashes into the forest near you, you go to investigate to find a giant mech! you are so giddy about it you barely think about how dangerous this would be and approach starscream stirs as you poke and prod at him with a stick. he thinks you're really fucking annoying lol but I mean if you were getting poked with a stick you'd think the same thing. you stumble back a bit but he catches you in his big hands, questioning you but you're heart's racing a bit… giant alien robot… why does he feel familiar? and starscream feels the same way about the encounter, why do you feel familiar. so without answering any of your questions he basically kidnaps you to figure it out. and thus your adventure begins :3
