Thanks to @aliciagilbert.bsky.social for presenting this project at #mepsy25! To use a metaphor completely unrelated to where I was during the presentation, it's like the Bryce Canyon hoodoos: possibly about to topple at any moment, but impeccably shaped over time to be stunning
A little late to posting - I had three insightful days at #mepsy25 and its phd workshop last week! Left with new acquaintances and interesting discussions about reasoning and trust in today's world. Also very grateful to the mepsy division for the best poster award!
I had a great time last week at #MePsy25 sharing research and listening to so many thoughtful and interesting media psych studies
At this year’s #MePsy25 conference in Duisburg, I presented a position paper about “small” media effects. While our field lacks objective criteria to decide when such effects are practically relevant, I proposed 5 criteria that can help deciding about relevance. Slides & paper on osf 👉 osf.io/d2ah7/
And with that, the 2025 conference season comes to an end 🔥 #MePsy25 in Duisburg was a blast: Presenting my Work and listening to others talk passionately about theirs was fun!
In July I also visited the #ISPP2025 conference in Prague and had my first own Presentation – what an experience!
Slide with the definition of counterspeech as direct communication against to reduce harmful effects
Super interesting debate by Özen Odağ and Larisa Buhin on the promises and perils of counterspeech #MePsy25
I am amazed by the relevance and quality of the work presented in the early morning panel on AI and society at #Mepsy25. Thanks to all the presenters!
One special format of #MePsy25 is the @jmp-hogrefe.bsky.social panel - a super cool format: Early career scholars could submit short papers that were reviewed for the conference by two experienced media psychologists
TikTok and attention is a very much debated relationship. Kerria @kerriadrueppel.bsky.social presents our study results demonstrating that objective attention testing and self-assessed TikTok use are related #MePsy25
In German we struggle with whether and how we should include different genders when we speak and write about different genders. Klimmt et al's replication of their own study demonstrates that it is still worth it #MePsy25
Had such a great time today speaking on a panel among amazing scholars about Human–AI and Mediated Experiences 🤖📺
Big thanks to everyone who joined the session and your thoughtful questions! ✨

And this year’s #mepsy25 best paper award goes to Marie Sophie Hunze and colleagues! 👏👏👏

Evoking @icahdq.bsky.social fun, #MePsy25 just got to experience a nationwide alert test mid-session. Speakers rolled with it like pros.
Great position paper on challenges (and possible solutions) on theorizing in media psychology by @adrianmeier.bsky.social and @dpossler.bsky.social in the first panel of #mediapsych25 #MePsy25
I've been using the wrong hashtag for #MePsy25?? @katypearce.bsky.social must be so disappointed in me.

Excited to be at #MePsy25 in Duisburg and proud to be part of five presentations. I will be presenting research on digital disconnection against procrastination tomorrow and @dougaparry.bsky.social and I will host the debate club on Friday. Looking forward to meet everyone at the conference.
My fantastic supervisor @dougaparry.bsky.social at #MePsy25 while I’m listening and learning at #ICCRStellies. An exciting and important week all round.
Today #MePsy25 has participants from 10 countries - and we have 9 nations at the doctoral workshop
Kicking off #MePsy25 by @mepsy.bsky.social with a look into the future: at the doctoral workshop (organized by @germanneubaum.bsky.social and @sabinetrepte.bsky.social ), the next gen of media psychologists will discuss their dissertations with mentors & peers &get insights into all things academia
After a good night’s rest here in Duisburg, I’ll soon be heading to the MediaPsych Doctoral Workshop, which takes place just before #mepsy25 kicks off. I’m so excited!
