My employer, and most of my colleagues for that matter, probably won't learn from this. And funny (or not) how absolutely no-one in my immediate workplace (or either union) has mentioned or known about the AI 'Smart Station' trial.
But ho hum.

Thanks to anyone thats donated or shared thus far. I was a bit lax when I signed up with pushing the page, what with my recent return to work after long-term illness.
For those on the #MemeRailway - I've got a super team behind me holding a bake sale fundraiser at Harrow TCA next month.
Yeah. So having to be at work on the #MemeRailway at 04:45 this morning was quite the anti-climax to an anti-climax of a NYE, but at least I was back home in bed by 11:30.

Early morning in Uxbridge Sidings. A Metropolitan line train departs another stabling road in the direction of Hillingdon.
Starting the new year as I mean to go on, with a run of 04:45 book-ons. 🤢 Dragging myself out of bed at some ungodly hour this morning wasn’t much fun, but someone has to do it. 😮💨 Same again tomorrow and on 1st Jan… 🥲

Driving cab of a Metropolitan line S stock train, with the cab fully shut down. The train is in Neasden depot awaiting assistance as the windscreen wiper on the driving (left) side has jammed in a position to the extreme left of the window. It is also raining.
Last night was ‘hump’ day (shift no. 4 in a run of 7) for me. Every day this week, something has happened on the #MemeRailway. _Shattered._
Yesterday my windscreen wiper jammed IN THE RAIN burning out the motor. No spare trains, so I had to sit around to get it fixed.

A small Italian confectionery item in brown and red paper wrapping with white and gold writing. It says “Pocket coffee espresso”.
Our guy @mitchelmor.uk doing the Lord’s work this morning as I start another day on the #MemeRailway. Thank you, bro. 🙏

Spoke too soon. Got stuck at Moor Park for 15 minutes this morning waiting for a downed tree to get shifted. 😅

Bit of a dodgy journey to work this morning at 07:00 with the storm. 😬 A wee bit slippery today with the railhead & a bit of a fussy train with it on first half of the duty; a better time of it with second train later in the day. And thankfully no trampolines/gazebos

Had to deal with the usual wave of, "Oh - that's a shame, but I get it," from my colleagues in the messroom.
The air of resignation is stale, to the point of suffucation.

Long shadows being cast across the Acton Town Station platform, with the bright afternoons illuminating a stationary Piccadilly line train. A passenger waits in dark clothes, with a dark red leather backpack on their back.
But as part of having to put together a ‘mood board’ for my current #Tubegeek adjacent project, here’s a few snaps taken during this week’s #MemeRailway commute.

I mean, we've been saying this wouldn't happen since that hilarious 1977 Evening Standard article, which had the headline 'DRIVERLESS TUBES BY 1990'. 😂

Quite a sketchy time last night on the Uxbridge branch and the #MemeRailway in general. 😬 It has been a while since I drove a train in such slippery conditions such as that, but my shift passed without incident. No Piccadilly line trains home at the end of my shift though. Sigh.

Sunshine floods through the roof windows at Uxbridge Station, where Platforms 1 to 3 are vacant. On Platform 4, a Metropolitan line S8 stock train is fully berthed in the platform.
Not long after the wedding, I passed my mobility assessment for my first proper day back on the #MemeRailway since I mashed up my ankle back in April. I had the best welcome back - it was like coming back after my one under 🥹 (And the disingenuous folk were all quiet & largely irrelevant 😌)
