Joined together in marriage It was very windy when we went to see the Meoto Iwa (Wedded Rocks) at the Futamiokitama Shrine, located in Ise, Mie Prefecture, Japan. According to the Shinto religion, the rocks represent the union of the creator kami, Izanagi and Izanami. The rocks, therefore, celebrate the union in marriage of man and woman.
