In Waikiki this morning and fortunate to catch these elite athletes race in the #merriemile. Congratulations to @nikkihiltz.bsky.social on their win!
Here is the photo finish from today's #MerrieMile in #Honolulu. Hobbs Kessler was closing fast, but he could not quite catch Sinclaire Johnson to get on the podium.
A smiling Nikki Hiltz crosses the finish line at the Merrie Mile with arms outstretched, just ahead of Weini Kelati and Sinclaire Johnson. On the far right (their left), Hobbs Kessler leans at the line to finish fourth overall.
In a wild finish at the #MerrieMile this morning in Honolulu, @nikkihiltz.bsky.social took the win in 4:28.39, just ahead of Weini Kelati (4:28.49) and Sinclaire Johnson (4:28.54). The men's field started 32 seconds behind, and a fast-closing Hobbs Kessler (3:56.51) finished fourth overall.
For the first time in the 8-year history of the race, athletes from the women's division swept the podium at the #MerrieMile. The overall winner was @nikkihiltz.bsky.social in 4:28.39 ($7500), followed by Weini Kelati (4:29.49/$5000), and Sinclaire Johnson (4:28.43/$3000).
