Bye bye #Miata1EV! We hardly new you!what a great platform to learn on. Looking forward to a real build on a Miata in better condition.

#Miata1EV subframe is out! Everything came off pretty easily except the swaybar endlinks. The LSD is still installed and may try to sell that as-is. Otherwise, we can pull and sell separate. It's not new, but only installed and never used!
Saving #Miata1EV subframe. We are convinced the Leaf motor and gear reduction will fit here! While in between builds, we are going to figure this out!
#Miata1EV disassembly update. The HV components are out! Next are some pieces to sell or keep for the next NA/NB Miata build!
We see more Miatas in the future, so we are keeping some key pieces. First to come out are the #coilovers! How low can you go?

While disassembling #Miata1EV, we wanted to share what worked. We reused the drive selector mechanics so that D and R were selected by new momentary push buttons. N was selected by pressing the original Leaf P.
This proved more reliable than the reed (magnetic) switches for D and R in #FrontiEV.
Test fitting some different setups for the inverter/PDM. There are some nice 10mm mount points on the wheel well. That and the motor will make the base, plus some vibration mounts.
I've decided to strip #Miata1EV for components. First to come off is the @InductiveAuto kit.
Wrapping up 2024 and #Miata1EV conversion. Check out the latest video!
Wrapping up this learning project at 95% complete. Poor decisions led to a need for a custom driveshaft, and the fabricator has ghosted. I learned a lot, happy to answer questions or share some learned lessons.

A quick shout out to Thunderstruck Motors. They are getting into the CAN weeds with me to get #Miata1EV charging.
