The drawing is an interpretation of a scene from the book "SPHERE" by Michael Chrichton. An ocean of pale purple foam in a dark void with fireflies all around. There's a figure becoming one with the luminous foam, looking over the vast sea of it. Text reading "THE FOAM" in brackets is loosely in the top right corner. Fartist notes: Made this for a school project also. More to be coming in the next month. I had deliberately place each little dot you see in the piece for like 2.5 hours so that was fun possibly. I chose this scene because I thought of this exact layout for a drawing in the shower. I should try showering more since I always think of good ideas in there. Maybe next year I'll have a shower.

A squid-like creature with loads of tentacles coming from its head and bottom. It has one large eye, surrounded by two rings and an accretion disk. Inside the eye is a silhouette of a space ship, with one white dot resembling the eyes pupil. Inside of its mouth are 3 other circles. Now some brief commentary on design decisions like I tend to do in the alt text. (potential spoilers for 39 year old book) In the book, the giant squid is a memorable manifestation and my personal favorite (me and Jerry would get along great), and because fear played such a huge role in the book, I wanted to draw an unknown threatening creature from the depths. The accretion disk is simple, the titular ship traveled through a black hole, so that's am important thing to include. I only added the two rings because I thought it would be cool. Inside the eye is my interpretation of the ship itself along with some random details here and there to make it looks more complex. There are 6 crosses on the ship, symbolizing the 6 people who died over the course of the book, while the 3 "spheres" in the creatures mouth are the 3 survivors. Them being in the mouth symbolizing how power consumed them (eh kinda. They just didn't know how to use it really). The patterns on some tentacles were added to add more complexity to the piece.

Currently #reading a #MichaelCrichton story. Half way into the book, feels like the plot has went 180. A newly introduced character expressed her frustration that she had no idea what was going on, the main character had no idea what was happening, I have no idea what is happening.

Finished my first read of Michael Crichton's Jurassic Park last night and OMG it was so goooood. Had me gripped from the first chapter. Can't wait to read The Lost World!

I haven't listened to an audiobook since I listened to #MichaelCrichton 's "Sphere" on a series of CASETTES about....oh, thirty-five years ago, now....? I loved it, actually, but I also just...sat there and listened to it. I don't think I'd be able t'have one on now and focus on anything else.
