In discussing writing, setting often gets short shrift to matters of character, plot, and theme. This course offers a deep dive into a specific element of setting; the seasons that recur each year, and bring us into contact with events from deep in our pasts and far in our future. We'll read examples of seasons and cycles across several genres of creative writing, will discuss tie-ins to themes, symbols, and character, and will practice these techniques in our work.
