My flash story from the second round of the @nycmidnight.bsky.social's #MicrofictionChallenge250 which, unfortunately, didn't pass. I, of course, blame it on a super awkward (for me) genre - #Fantasy - not on fact that there were hundreds of more talented contestants.
Okay, that was intense! As of 2044 PDT, I submitted my @nycmidnight.bsky.social #MicrofictionChallenge250 final round entry, with 15 min to spare. I actually wrote 2 entries & had help choosing which to submit. I think the right choice won out. We'll see what the judges think...

I was assigned Historical Fiction genre, bluffing for my action, and the word soft. Historical Fiction is hard (so much research!!), but at least it's not horror or thriller.

Somehow, I made the cut in Round 1 of NYC Midnight's 250 word microfiction challenge, so I guess I've gotta come up with another story! Currently wondering just how much I can stretch the boundaries of Suspense/Thriller to make it a comedy. I believe in myself.
