Amelia Shadows seems to be a typical teen, except her father is one of the best dark magicians. She's learning to be like him, with the help of a somewhat boring ghost tutor. Enter Hans, another ghost that her dad has sent to be in charge of things. Between Amelia, her crusty old tutor, and Hans the bossy know-it-all ghost, the story turns out to be fun, unexpectedly engaging, and even charming. -- Lisa D.
