Big the Cat appears in numerous other games, while Princess Elise’s only other appearance, excepting cameos, is in Sonic the Hedgehog (2006), one of the games in which Big does not appear. Fanon The pairing has historically been unpopular, but has gained several fanworks on AO3. Ironically, the first Elisbig ship fic on the site has Big meeting Elise in her castle while searching for Froggy, and was published on this site nearly six months before Big would canonically describe them meeting for the exact same reason.
