Biographies: Victor Ambros is a renowned molecular biologist and a pioneer in the field of RNA biology. He is best known for his discovery of microRNAs, small RNA molecules that regulate gene expression. Ambros, along with his colleague Gary Ruvkun, identified the first microRNA, lin-4, in the early 1990s, which marked a revolutionary finding in the understanding of gene regulation. He has made significant contributions to the study of RNA-mediated gene regulation in development, aging, and disease.
