We've not had a lot of time to be working in the studio recently; but, we are still at work creating new things, revisiting techniques, and expanding what we create and are able to share and offer to all of you! We've recently completed an artwork on canvas using the batik technique, much like we have done with many of our silk scarves; but, this piece is significantly larger and wall-hanging!

   * For those of you not familiar with batik, it is the process of applying hot wax [normally beeswax] directly to fabric to resist color(s) applied. Once the colors have been layered from light to dark, the wax can be cracked and the darkest color would then be added to amplify the cracking, before ironing all the wax back out of the textile. Specifically for our artwork we did layer wax with color several times; but, we omitted cracking and darkening the piece.

Today we're only sharing a little snippet - a morsel - of what we created! We made this artwork and entered it into a show specifically for Fiber Arts. The announcement as to whether or not we'll be included in that exhibition doesn't come until later this month. We'll wait as patiently as we can until then!! Final Thought: When we started the business, creating art to be part of a Fiber Arts Show wasn't a thought in our minds and now it just may be part of our reality!

Keep dreaming and doing Friends & Followers!
