Thankfull for this nice cooperation and nice to see low cost ecophysiological measurment equipment developed together with Hauke #MonksHillLab at work (manual GHG chambers, semi automatic GHG chambers and NDVI sensors)....if soemone is interested in mlre info, please see: zenodo.org/records/1794...
@zalf.bsky.social Sometimes state-of-the-art research relies on state-of-the-1949 engineering.
Shoutout to this glorious vintage viscometer, still churning out beautiful data 75 years later. A testament to good design! #MonksHillLab #LabGear #Physics #HistoryOfScience
@zalf.bsky.social and @marenecohydro.bsky.social a lab's strength is its shared toolkit - and we mean more than hardware.

@zalf.bsky.social Our Handbook for low-cost DIY systems passed another milestone and 🚀 Just hit 850 downloads in 3 1/2 month!
Soon to come our first long range wireless data transfer option for the mini weather station EVE.

A new @zalf.bsky.social (WG ECO; #MonksHillLab) publication using automated chambers in a fen to investigate GHG flux dynamics following rewetting.
#MonksHillLab news! The #AgroFlux component #SensorWeb has a new family member. Our "MonksHillLab Bluetooth App" allows to connect to our Low-Cost DIY sensor devices (e.g. for CO2, ET and NDVI) used for ecophy. research. The App visualize received data, saves it and allow for easy charing/transfer.
Check out the new paper by #MonksHillLab (@waelalhamwi.bsky.social) in #Biogeoscineces (bg.copernicus.org/articles/21/...) presenting our novel low-cost, do-it-yourself gas exchange measurment system for e.g. pot experiments (@zalf.bsky.social).
@zalf.bsky.social using semi-good westher yesterday for a foto shoot with our new, autark, #low-cost , #DIY autochambers for CO2 and ET flux measurements. #MonksHillLab
@zalf.bsky.social start of Establishment of automatic GHG emission measurements with Milan and Dnaica at the first #WetNetBB site in #Paulinenaue. Perfect weather...not. chambers soon to come. #MonksHillLab
....our PHD Edem #AquaTrans with other @zalf.bsky.social colegues visited SARI/northern Ghana to discuss promising sustainable agricultural practices which might help to improve water use in western africa. He will start CO2/ET measurements with semi-automatic, low cost chambers soon. #MonksHillLab
@zalf.bsky.social Third sucessfull #MonksHillLab phd student. On 15.11.2024 Shrijana Vaidya gave a great presentation and performed really good during her defence discussion finally getting the well deserved Dr. rer. nat. from the Albrecht Thaer Institute of the Humboldt University Berlin.
Starting our new NemGem project with implememting the two on farm field trials. Three years of Investigating N cycling in gabbage and especially how it can be improved through reuse/treatment of its residues. #MonksHillLab #ZALF
First of a series of incubation experiments #MonksHillLab (Yvonne Ayaribil) conducts for #COINS. Together with #SARI (Michael Asnate), Goeffroy Sossa
and ZALF SIB we test how ASi and min vs. org N fertilization affect soil GHG emissions of different agroecological zones in West Africa.
...new project funded with #NemGem (joint venture of #MonksHillLab +
#Kiris_Lab
) + two published Papers (congrats to
Reena Macagga and Katja Kramp
)! Now it can only get worse this week ;-) ....
@zalf_leibniz 2nd kick off for #COINS (this time Senegal). Our team (Yvonne & Malena) on their first trip exploring more potential field sites & connect with amazing partners (e.g. IPAR). Looking forward to measure GHG & ET with @marenecohydro.bsky.social and #MonksHillLab.
@zalf_leibniz Excited to kick off for #COINS & #AquaTrans (Ghana & soon Senegal). Our team (Yvonne, Katja & Malena) on their first trip exploribg potential field sites & connect with amazing partners. Looking forward to measure GHG & ET with @marenecohydro.bsky.social and #MonksHillLab.
#MonksHillLab keep growing. keeps growing. From 2024 on a phd position (3+1 years) is offered in the working group of Biogeochemistry and Gas Fluxes dealing with GHGs and water cycling in rewetted wetlands and paludiculture. jobs.zalf.de/jobposting/2...
