#Monkigras and #Monktoberfest ARE amazing.
There are not many spaces like these to have this kind of talks and discussions. Heavy on the humanity ❤️ and associations with tech, not only bits and bytes.
Participate, attend, sponsor!
Had such a great time at #monkigras meeting and seeing many of you. Safe travels to wherever you are going and see you again at #monktoberfest!!! 🍻
As always, it was an honor to speak on a deeply personal topic at #Monktoberfest. Thank you for having me 💜
CW in the talk.

Oh #Monktoberfest is the single best conference I go to in terms of feeling covid safe. Outdoor level air quality.
The roller derby folks were right. #monktoberfest
A close-up image of a black metal coffee mug with a silver rim, filled with a light brown frothy coffee beverage, sitting on a wooden surface. Behind the mug is a white bag of coffee beans, partially out of focus. The bag is labeled “Speckled Ax” in a stylized black script next to an illustration of an axe. Additional text on the bag includes “Organic Coffee” and “Net Weight 12 oz (340 grams),” along with certifications for USDA Organic and Fair Trade. The overall setting suggests a cozy, artisanal coffee experience.
Smuggled a little Maine goodness back to Philly. #monktoberfest
It was definitely a missed opportunity and I am super sorry I could not be at #Monktoberfest this year, but I am glad I sent the best representative ever
Jokes aside @quinnypig.com is good people and it’s my privilege to be able to call them my friend
#Monktoberfest was a delight, as was my extra, lazy day in Portland. Now all that is left is to get one last lobster roll and return home. Hope to see you all next year!
#Monktoberfest was the first time all four authors were together since we started writing this book. Pictures were taken of this magic, but not by me.
Anyway, pre-orders are love, and you can support your local bookshop from ordering here: bookshop.org/p/books/prog...
A screencap of the “Amazon Hot New Releases” page for Project Management. The cover for the Audible version of the Progressive Delivery book is listed at #1. It is also cheap to pre-order, only $14 or one Audible credit.
This week we gave away almost 100 fully-signed #ProgressiveDelivery books while we were at #Monktoberfest, and even more than that at #ETLS25 (but fewer signatures).
We are exactly one month from release day!
And look at this pre-order sales ranking!
A slide shows a photo of a person in a kayak in a body of water with steep hills in the distance. The person raises their arms in an exulting gesture. The slide reads: action research, we're trying to get somewhere together, scientists are intentional advocates fighting with communities. On the left-hand side text reads lived experience: the rich deeply observed world of practitioners. On the right-hand side text reads empirical studies, rigorous theory and evidence development from experts
Good things happen when you make this your guiding light (slide from my #Monktoberfest talk)
#Monktoberfest hit hard this year for so many of us. Taylor captures one aspect of it very well.
A large audience seated in a bright event space, listening to a speaker presenting slides on a screen under hanging red and white paper lanterns.
Spring Point Ledge Light in Maine, standing on a rocky breakwater under clear evening light, with calm harbor waters and buildings and sailboats along the shore in the background.
Portland Head Light in Maine, viewed across the water at sunset with calm waves, a pastel sky, and a half moon rising above the horizon.
while leaving my 3rd #Monktoberfest I’m reminded that the larger tech community the last 9 months has felt incredibly alienating to me, especially when you see many CEOs of companies supporting genocidal/faschy leaders, the lack of empathy, and everyone feels pitted against each other, but…
Now that I've officially left Portland, I suppose I'll begrudgingly accept that this year's #monktoberfest is over. It was such a delight seeing you all and I'm excited to take what I've learned and reinforced back home.
Thank you, once again, to everyone who makes this happen. See you next year!
Steve, every year you & the @redmonk.com team welcome us to Portland for #Monktoberfest. This community replenishes my soul every year. This year it was needed more than ever. I cannot thank you & everyone involved enough.
#monktoberfest is the kind of conference where you end up drinking Italian orange wine with people and then sharing a ride to the airport with @wiredferret.bsky.social and @bcantrill.bsky.social , as you do.

Getting some FOMO for #monktoberfest. I’ve wanted to go for a while now and keep forgetting to make plans in like August.
The conference started with a Tweet ends with me in the trunk #monktoberfest
Photo of Corey Quinn’s shiny sticker with a negative COVID test. Duck approved.
Forgot to post my daily COVID test for #Monktoberfest! Yay for events everyone can feel safe at, plus shiny stickers. 😮
Great note to end #monktoberfest!
Thus ends #monktoberfest 2025.
Thank you to the organizers, for putting together a great tinyconf.
Thank you to @jerdog.dev for making liveskeeting possible.
Thank you to @redmonk.com for sponsoring me as a DEI recipient!
I’m so grateful to be here.
from @bcantrill.bsky.social: trust is infrastructure - it is the bedrock upon which we bud everything: our institutions, our organizations, our communties. it needs work, maintenance, and repair. #monktoberfest
