Probably uncool to admit that I really liked Allbirds trail runners and slip-ons. They were super comfortable. But then as they expanded into retail and growth at all costs, they started declining in quality and the shoes hurt my feet. Now they’re an AI company. This is the capitalism speedrun.

What a fucking joke. The real joke is the announcement made their stock jump 700% instead of straight to zero.

i will be completely honest and vulnerable here - i have very few 'brands' i will stan for, but until today, allbirds was one of them. i have been wearing these shoes for probably 10 years and they've been reliably good, durable, and reasonably priced. this all sucks imo.

Nothing says "America is Back Baby!" like "Allbirds became an AI hardware middleman because they wanted to pump their stock instead of going into bankruptcy, so they said they will find some computer chips somewhere, but can no longer sell shoes."
