Between 2018 and 2020 I was Product Manager of #MoodleNet, the world's first decentralised digital commons.
This eventually became #Bonfire (bonfirenetworks.org) a federated app toolkit. I've started hacking on it to see if I can resurrect the original #OER dream...
Thank you! I was introduced to Nord theme (nordtheme.com) by the #MoodleNet designer back in the day. Love it.
Much of what we’re working on will continue, including all the initiatives we’ve already progressed this year. However, there are also a few areas we’ll be stepping back from: MoodleNet: We’ll cease HQ-driven development of MoodleNet. The platform code will remain available on GitHub and can be adopted, used, or enhanced by anyone interested in continuing that work. We encourage the community to self-organise and explore those opportunities. Access to moodle.net will be removed from public view on 24th April 2026, in line with the Moodle LMS 5.2 release date.
Falls ihr bisher #MoodleNet zum Teilen von #OER bzw. #OpenEducationalResources genutzt habt oder nutzen wolltet - dieses wird zum 24. April abgeschaltet.

While I was away for a bit, I rediscovered Are.na which I first came across in 2018 while doing my research for #MoodleNet
Anyway, I'm regularly posting my 'finds' there - the kinds of things that might not make their way to Thought Shrapnel.
