Moon snails are a great predator. When eating another mollusk, they wrap their foot around them. Then they use acidic secretions and their radula (a toothed tongue) to drill a hole through the shell.

"Sea Monster"
A Lewis' Moon Snail underneath the ferry dock this morning. The hard shell is about 4" in diameter, while the soft "foot" extends out another 4" or so. Lowest tides of the year this week, making it easier to see amazing sea critters like these.
