Purposeful Moorhen on sunlit waters

The edge of a drained pond. Fresh Spring reeds are a vibrant green frame to the edge of the pond which has heen drained of water leaving dark black mud There are black birds in the centre of the photo.

A Moorhen and 4 scruffy but glossy chicks can be seen on the dark mud of a drained pond.
