Stopped for the night in Sebes, Romania. Small town, not much to see or do here, but feeling good about the choice of hotel and route we’re on simply based on the other #motorcyclists also here.

Gas stop in Romania. I ordered falafel & hummus but no hummus so she gave me something cabbage based instead. Good thing brownie is the same in multiple languages.
The bikes seem to stand out a lot more here. I seem to stand out more here too.

Stopped for the night in Schladming, #Austria. A charming town nestled in the mountains, complete with a ski lift.
Here’s hoping my gear dries out before getting on the road again in the morning.

The #Motorrad museum at the top of #Timmelsjoch pass. So many more bikes than I expected, including a steam engine #motorcycle!
Definitely worth stopping in to look around.

Found a hostel room for the night in beautiful #Merano, #Italy.
Had to double check that I was still in Italy as everyone seems to speak German here.
My shifting foot was twitching as I fell asleep with memories of the Stelvio Pass. ☺️

Took a wrong turn & rode around much of the lake. No matter, ended up at a great place with the friendliest hosts and met a couple of young #bikers who were happy to chat about our travels.

Calling it a day. Head is not in a good place, I dropped the bike (it and I are both fine), everything feels like a struggle and I cried in a coffee shop.
Better just parking it for the day. Ferry home tomorrow.

The French countryside.
Stopped in Carcassonne for a stroll, then Capestang. Small town stops like this are highlights for me. Beautiful courtyard cafes with other bikers (both the ding ding & the vroom vroom variety) enjoying a quiet moment.

Stopped for the night a few kms south of Limoux, France. Camped outside the old walls of the city, directly beside the church bell tower which rang at 7am.
Not a problem as I was already awake and shivering. Looking forward to finding sunshine.

Stopped in the beautiful Spanish town of #Salamanca. The central plaza is breathtaking.
Perfectly pruned parks & delicately designed railings around French doors opening onto stone paved alleys. Fast food deliverers on scooters zip between smoking pedestrians.
I’ve been in Portugal for 3 days, saying “obrigado” about 24x per day, and just realized I should’ve been saying “obrigada”.
Sheesh.
I would like to spend more time learning the language but gotta move on to the next country & next language as I’m on a tight schedule.

#Portugal is perfect for riding! Beautiful winding roads through rolling hills. And the smells! The air is saturated with the thick, rich scent of olives as I realize the silvery grey leaved trees I’m riding past are olive trees and I’m in the midst of an olive farm.
La dernière avec la moto bleu qui est devant une tente de laquelle s'échappe une lumière rouge, à gauche de la tente un siège. Derrière ce beau monde, une haie d'arbre camoufle en grande partie la montagne derrière laquelle le soleil est en train de se cacher.
En premier plan une glace flou qui laisse l'exclusivité de la clarté à la vrai star, le lac du Corbeau qui a creusé son lit au milieu des montages toujours aussi chargées en sapin.
La fatigue, les touristes (Encore une fois tu EN FAIT PARTIE) et le manque de point de vue vont faire que je prends assez peu de photo de la fin de la route, mais au moins une lorsque je récompense ma survie avec une glace face au lac du Corbeau.

L'une des superbes locomotives dans la citée du train. Il s'agit d'un modèle 232 de la SNCF de couleur verte kaki et à la face noire rehaussée de détails rouges. La locomotive est posée sur des rails dans un hall au toit en bois.
Une vue sur l'enfilade d'automobile d'avant-guerre du musée national de l'automobile. Les véhicules en premier plan sont plus proches du carrosses auxquels ont auraient adjoint un moteur et des phares d'automobiles. Le conducteur a néanmoins le droit à un pare brise, quel luxe !
Une mine d'argent abandonnée dans les environs de Mulhouse. Dans ce qui est plus proche d'une crevasse que d'une carrière, on trouve des pontons en bois et on voit des galerie s'enfoncer dans la pierre.
Monument Hartmannswillerkopf tout d'or sur les blasons des villes pris en sandwich entre deux plaques noir. Sur la zone basse, on voit le nom des villes de Colmar, Lyon, Paris et Mulhouse (dans cet ordre). En arrière l'une der dernière montagne avant la pleine d'Alsace que l'on aperçoit.
Le programme prévoyait déjà que je roulerais moins aujourd'hui et heureusement !
Entre la fatigue de la mauvaise nuit du premier jour, le roulage intensif du second et la température qui pointera à 37°C ce jour, j'ai douillé.

Vue depuis le Hohneck en direction de l'Alsace, mais à perte de vue tout ce que l'on voit ce sont les ballons Vosgiens.
Depuis la route des crêtes aperçu sur une vallée avec son lac. Les ballons des Vosges paraissent s'étendre à l'infini sur la gauche de la photo. En premier plan encore et toujours la moto bleue.
On prend en photo le cul de la moto bleue garé juste devant le Lac Blanc. Derrière l'étendue d'eau, la montagne couverte de sapin se dresse abruptement.
La moto bleu accompagné d'une tente grise dans une emplacement entouré de haie et petit arbres qui échouent à cacher derrière un relief couvert de conifères.
On continue et cette fois, on rentre vraiment dans les Vosges pure et dure avec pas mal de passage par la fameuse route des crêtes... avec trop de touristes (tu en fais toujours partie...). Heureusement l'altitude arrive à casser une bonne partie de la […]
