A captivating little planet projection shows the Curiosity rover on Mars, nearly straddling the Martian surface in the Marias Pass region of lower Mount Sharp. This 360x180 degree mosaic, created from 92 images taken by the rover's MAHLI camera on Sol 1065 (August 4, 2015), showcases the rover's shadow cast on the red dust. The image excludes the rover's arm and MAHLI camera mount for a cleaner view.
