This is what I'm 🤔: Watch Casino Royale. I know I ❤️ that. It's a #MoviesThatMadeMe. Watch #GoldenEye. I enjoy it, haven't seen it in years; it's the other exception. THEN watch every other Bond film until the moment I nope out and record that.

ALL of that's an article 🤓

"Your file shows no kills, and it takes..." Bond finishes Dryden's sentence, suggesting that he (and, by proxy, we, the audience) are well familiar with this old rigamarole. 2 kills, yup! We get it, move along, Dryden, by which we mean into a pine box six feet underground.

... but when you THINK about it, what that all suggests about MI6's activities and philosophies is, like, pretty bonkers. Oh, no sir, don't even think about APPLYING for us until you've killed SEVERAL guys (like, granted, it's sort of an internal promotion, so they're not sorting off the street by preference for murderers... but it's not THAT much different, if you think about, which is what we're doing)

Contemplating #CasinoRoyale for rewatch #moviereview (arguably 1 of the #MoviesThatMadeMe), & struck by this bizarre piece of #JamesBond #lore:

I'm with you! I have no love for ANY of those Vacation #movies, bar none.

BUT, for Chevy Chase at his best (and arguably at his Cheviest, as well), I'd argue #Fletch is where it's at.

One of the #MoviesThatMadeMe and a dating/romantic litmus test for me; GOOD sign for me if they like Fletch 😅

The aunt in question was Aunt Janet, and she was my favorite and I was her favorite. She died of lung cancer, and the one thing she EVER commanded/ordered me not to do was start smoking. I smoke to this day. Addiction is crazy, man. Like all my family members, dead or alive, that’s her real name. They’re stuck with me, and I don’t change their names like I do for ex gfs and other non-famous people 😅

One of the #MoviesThatMadeMe. I’ll prob have to save it till next summer, since I’m already out of 😎 & still working on R&G Are Dead, but it’s 1 of the big, like, top 10 films for me, growing up.

I watched it in a trailer park w/ my 1 aunt I loved (who died when I was 13) babysat me 😭

This summer, the cats & I are doing a series on the #MoviesThatMadeMe. It’s our firm belief that ‘we are what we eat,’ and that the media and content — and most especially narratives — that we consume affect and shape us, and it is, therefore, vital to be mindful of what we consume… and have consumed. These Movies That Made Us are the foundational building blocks of the storytellers and story-appreciators we eventually came to be.

The Cake is a Truth | Tommy Boy (1995) Rewatch Movie Review Link in the bleet; go read it!

The wonderful thing about good stories — and, for the cats & me, most especially good, filmic stories — is that we perpetually have the option to be shaped and reshaped by them again and again.

The reason the film is so powerful, resonant and ultimately funny is that, based on the quality of its characters and the subsequent resonance of the storytelling, it wouldn’t even have to be, in order to be worthwhile and good.

It’s getting more vital every day that we mindfully Curate our Vibes, and this movie has one of the best vibes of any film, ever. If you want to mindfully curate your vibes (and you should), this is a great film to use to do so.
