A complex series of zigzagging wooden staircases with multiple landings, railings, and turns, forming a geometric pattern. The weathered wood has a natural, rustic look, with some areas darkened from age and exposure. The railings include silver metal handrails, and a wire mesh fence is visible on the left side. It is 239 steps from the bottom of the Mt Pisgah boardwalk to the top. From the top one can see the beach, and Lake Michigan, and the horizon.
