Act V, s4 (l.74)
V.4 -- Say what you will about Branagh but damn he has a way with Shakespearean lines. They trip so commonly and true out of him as if he's simply speaking. No translation necessary. (Emma pretty wonderful too.) #muchado_2025 youtu.be/UvU9GbaMY40?...

And got a calf in that same noble feat

Last day- thanks so much for reading together!! See y'all at #MerryWives_2025 on Feb. 24th!
I feel seen.
Prince:
Good morrow, Benedick. Why, what's the matter that you have such a February face, so full of frost, of storm, and cloudiness?

I used to think of Much Ado About Nothing as one of Shakespeare’s lighter plays, but after this read, I feel that its handling of power, honour, and gender inequities is much darker.
I finished today as I'm indisposed for the next few days.
Thanks @christina500.bsky.social and all.

Before the wheels of Phoebus round about
Dapples the drowsy east with spots of grey."

Hymen- Greek mythology god of marriage; name derives from the refrain of an ancient marriage song. Mentioned first by the 5th-century-BC lyric poet Pindar as the son of Apollo by one of the Muses: Calliope, Clio, Terpsichore (Alciphron), or Urania (Catullus). #MuchAdo_2025 #GreekMythology (1/2)

LORD. It is, my lord.
CLAUD. [Reads the epitaph]

Was the Hero that here lies:
Death in guerdon of her wrongs
Gives her fame which never dies.

BENE. ... Marry, I cannot show it in rhyme, I have tried: I can find out no rhyme to 'lady' but 'baby'--an innocent rhyme: for 'scorn,' 'horn'--a hard rhyme: for 'school,' 'fool'--a babbling rhyme: very ominous endings. (1/2)

Hello, dear Shakespeare friends- we'll start #MerryWives_2025 on Feb. 24 (3wks). The previous plan was to follow with HenryVI & Richard III. In light of current governmental catastrophe, how about another comedy or two? 2 votes for More Comedies so far- pls reply or message me, thanks!
