Teachers should encourage their #multilinguallearner students to speak, read, and write in their native language as much as possible. This will enhance their learning of English, but also strengthen their cultural identity, improve empathy, increase job prospects, & much much more!

Enhance your display boards with vibrant vocabulary in the home languages of your #MultilingualLearner students to promote an inclusive learning environment. Encouraging students to create them values their identities and fosters a sense of belonging in your classroom.
These are great practices, but most #PreK teachers have at least one #MultilingualLearner in their class - a point not supported here. When advising teachers about using language to support learning, you should acknowledge they need explicit instruction on how to do that with multiple languages.
