Well done on your #musicstall event—and it really did feel like an event! It was a lot of fun and a great way to help build a community which is, I think, the main point of these things. Any advice I’d have for you is probably obvious stuff, but I’ll share it anyway, in case it helps (1/🧵)
My final #MusicStall visit, and seeing as I'm Irish myself, it was like coming home. Corkwoman Lohan is a stand out singer/songwriter. Her song Sailing By was a massive local hit too, but this stunning cover of a Dylan classic shows the real breadth and depth of her talent.

A great theme here of songs about film stars, and it's a fine excuse for us to celebrate Bauhaus' incredible debut single, a song often credited with the invention of gothic rock.
If you've 9 minutes to spare, you should give it a spin too.

Country's not a genre I've explored much, so this was an education for me. I learned I like sad songs WAY more than happy ones.

This stall has reminded how so many 80s singles would have a B side that wouldn't be on the upcoming album, don't buy the singles and you'll miss out...

My last thought (for the future) is about kitchens and parties.
6 or 7 people may end up chatting as a group. 15 tend to graze and chat in pairs.
I'd love to do another round of #MusicStall but maybe with new folk to meet.
Today's the end of the #MusicStall beta trial and I'd love to share some thoughts.
It's been a real delight getting to know all of you who stuck it out to the finish. Those who dropped out missed out on so much.

So I've toured the marketplace and I end up here.
"Bricks" seems to have abandoned their stall. Speculative me wonders if it's because everyone keeps choosing the tuneful track to post? Was this a ploy to identify the braver among us (e.g. not me)?
It's my last day here at the market and Marsha's #MusicStall is near the exit. What an excellent theme! And, notwithstanding the terrible vocal mix, I love this slice of guitar pop

And then the #MusicStall challenge is a separate thing that runs over a longer period of time. It has rules outlined here (that will probably get updated before the next time it runs)

Cat has laid out a great selection of tracks for our perusal.
There are a couple of standout songs that people have been choosing as their faves - but I'll go with this.
Early shift at the market (I'm a keyholder now) and this is my pick from Gary's #MusicStall. This reminds me of 80s Luton pub crawls with my friend Roger feeding the jukebox as soon as we walk through the door…

An unmistakably Gallic theme to Stall 1. And whilst I love Brel and Trenet's La Mer, I have to go for this utter gem, which was a #1 hit on the UK and sounds positively indecent in these more sexually repressed times. J'adore!

Top marks to Stall 12 for the theme. Part of me wishes that these groups would also do covers of the well known songs, especially in the case of The Beths🙂
