(Same on Both Sides) An image of the 45 RPM vinyl promo record of “Dear Me”, by Lorrie Morgan released from her “Leave the Light On” album on RCA Records.

After ten+ years in the business, this was her very first Top 10 hit! I played this song a lot back then. It was in our highest rotation for several weeks at AM 650 KYAK, the station I worked for (1987-1991) and had listened to since childhood.

I think Sylvia would have sounded unbelievably amazing if she had the chance to record this song. I love its production, arrangement, and lyrics so much!

An image of the 45 RPM vinyl record of “Fly into Love”, by Charly McClain released on Epic Records from her album, “Paradise” in 1983.

It’s been my hobby to collect 45 RPM singles. Listening to “American Country Countdown” with Bob Kingsley way back then somehow made the songs of that era even more special to me. It was always so fascinating to hear the stories behind the song and about the artists, what position your favorite song was in, etc. Bob had such a unique way of speaking about it all. However, I couldn’t help but often be disappointed with my favorite songs not going higher on the countdown. I think this song should have at least been a Top 10.

An image of the 45 RPM vinyl record of “You Got Me Running”, by Jim Glaser released on Nobel Vision Records from his album, “The Man in the Mirror” in 1983.

It’s been my hobby to collect 45 RPM singles. I enjoyed listening to this song on the radio and went to my favorite record store to buy and added it to my treasured music collection 4+ decades ago.

An image of the 45 RPM vinyl record of “Pieces of April”, the B-side to “You Got Me Running”, by Jim Glaser released on Nobel Vision Records in 1983. Extra Note: This is an absolutely beautiful rendition of the song that unfortunately is not on the album. I think it should have actually been released as a single.

#Songs are about whatever you want them to be about. For me it might mean something completely different than what it means to you. So I'd say it's about whatever the listener thinks it's about. #NorahJones
