A UCI cinema ticket printed on white card with a red patterned background and perforated feed holes along the left edge. The ticket shows the slogan “More choice of more movies in more comfort” across the top. The film title “My Blue Heaven” is faintly printed in the centre. The location reads “Wycombe,” with the date “9.11.90,” the screening time “12:00,” and the ticket price “3.75.” A serial number appears in the top right.
Film poster for My Blue Heaven (1990). Steve Martin, wearing a burgundy suit, stands smiling with his arm around Rick Moranis, who wears glasses, a white shirt, and grey trousers with a shoulder holster. A lawnmower sits beside them on bright green grass against a pale blue sky background. Text at the top reads “Steve Martin is a Gangster. Rick Moranis is a Federal Agent.” The title “My Blue Heaven” appears between them with the line “A comedy about a government witness who gives suburbia a culture shock.”
Once again we’re safely in late 80s/early 90s territory with this Nora Ephron-penned Steve Martin/Rick Moranis mob comedy. The New York Times called it “a truly funny concept and a disappointment on the screen”, which probably explains why I barely remember it.
