For the record, I made this from the ground up, layer by layer, just like any of my usual artworks. Sketch and inking in #MyPaint with colors, fine shading, and background composition in #Krita. This is why I made it a habit to post WIP screenshots.

Screenshot of a Drawpile canvas comparing the "Normal" and "Pigment" blend mode side by side. Both of them have a blue blotch at the top and a yellow blotch in the middle. The Normal mode on the left has them blended into a dull gray in the middle, the Pigment mode has a more vibrant green where they mix instead.
Drawpile 2.3 is gonna add a Pigment blend mode, based on MyPaint. It makes paint mixing more "realistic".
I know there's people that are very enthusiastic about this stuff. If you are and got a better curve to use or whatever, give a poke.

Shantae drew in a heavily stylised way. She's smiling with one hand on waist looking right. She's under a spotlight, while background is darker. She's at the center of the screen and background is based on a cave from Shantae Risky's Revange with tones of red, purple and a bit of green. Shantae herself also wears red oufit and purple hair so it's a colour themed image.
