On FB two different individuals whom I respect have suggested that the SCA needs a different tool to improve communications. I'd argue that the cost of Yet Another Non-Interoperative Tool is higher than the value. What we need is a better message. /1

Spent the weekend teaching coin collectors how coins were made in Europe before 1600.

A completed teal knit silk stocking with side clock detail underneath a partially knit stocking to complete the pair. The cuff and upper calf to through the start of the side clock detail is finished on the second stocking. The stocking is being knit on 2 fixed circular needles with red cords and silver needles, one end of each of which is shown. Yarn: KnitPicks Luminance mulberry silk Needles: US 1s, I think? Might be 0s but my needle gauge is in another room and I had a new-to-me Pilates class and a new personal training routine today so am NOT getting up to fetch it Gauge: 14 sts/16 rows per inch
..and we've now reached the point when I worry that math has failed me and the stockings won't fit the recipient because they look wrong. *sigh* (They'll be fine; bespoke stockings don't always look like model stockings because *people* don't (always) look like mannequins.) 🧶 #MySCA

My primary research at the moment is how [Fiore's](wiktenauer.com/wiki/Fiore) mounted plays actually work. Then, to understand what I was learning I had to create a [weapons flow](youtu.be/fydCQDM72Ok) to teach me to move smoothly between the positions while riding well.
