One week ago today, I was at #NAACL in Albuquerque, New Mexico presenting a poster on our work about creating LLMs for extremely low-resource Finno-Ugric languages. It was an experience for sure — and likely my last conference as a PhD student 🥹 #NAACL25

Are you tired of using traditional stance detection to measure the polarity of text? Our #NAACL25 paper proposes an approach that uses pairwise comparisons to order texts on a continuous scale, capturing both implicit and explicit evidence in language.

Our work (REL-A.I.) introduces an evaluation framework that measures human reliance on LLMs and reveals how contextual features like anthropomorphism, subject, and user history can significantly influence user reliance behaviors.
My student is going to #NAACL25 / #NAACL2025 as a Volunteer and is looking for a roommate at or near the conference venue. If you know of anyone who might be interested in splitting the room costs please let me know!
